The new film "Yangtze River No. 7" directed by "King of Comedy" Zhou Xingchi has whetted the appetite of "star fans" and finally revealed a corner of the mystery. At the press conference held here yesterday afternoon, the creators made their first collective appearance and released the trailer of the movie to the media.

Appearing at the press conference, Stephen Chow still has gray hair, maintaining the look he had in "Kung Fu" three years ago. Regarding "Yangtze River No. 7," which took three years to complete, he said that it was his childhood dream to make science fiction movies, and he said he had seen UFOs twice. "The first time was when he was studying in the artiste training class, and one night he went to the radio station to work and saw a spherical thing in the sky, possibly a flying saucer. The second time was on vacation in Hawaii and saw a star moving in the sky for half an hour. I didn’t know what it was except that I thought it was alien."

The film is also considered to be a transformative work of Chow Xingchi. The film focuses on telling the story of a father-son relationship. In the film, Chow Xingchi’s son is played by a 9-year-old mainland girl, Xu Jiao. Han Sanping, chairman of the Chinese film group company, said that in this film, Chow Xingchi combines his imagination of stories and images with the touching father-son relationship very well, bringing the audience not only joy, but also thinking, and even a little bitterness, which will further expand the audience base of Chow Xingchi’s films.

Asked about the total investment for "Yangtze River No. 7," Mr. Chow insisted he could not disclose it for the time being. He said he preferred to be a director to an actor, "because there are more and more good actors now, acting is really stressful, and it is better to switch to directing." As for the selling point of a movie, Chow said that the most important thing is to have a good story. "There is always only one reason to attract audiences, and that is to look good, and there will be no other reason."

"Yangtze River No. 7" will be officially released on January 31 next year, competing for the New Year’s box office along with several other blockbusters.
