In 2011, the movie box office is expected to break 13 billion. The secret comes from online group buying.
The minimum group purchase is 19.5 yuan
Most people think that the success of the movie is due to good luck, but experts in the industry believe that it was forced to make a success. A few days ago, the 2011 China (Beijing) Film Academic Annual Conference was held in china national film museum. Film business owners, cinema managers and industry experts from all over the country gathered together to "pulse" China’s films. The industry believes that with the rapid development of China films, all aspects are facing structural adjustment, and "33 Days of Lovelorn" can be called the first shot of structural adjustment.
Box office results exceeded 11 billion yuan at the end of October.
In 2010, the national box office of China movies reached 10.172 billion yuan, a record high. Tong Gang, director of the Film Bureau of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, revealed at this annual meeting that by the end of October, the national box office of China films had exceeded 11 billion yuan in 2011, and it is expected to exceed 13 billion yuan for the whole year, and the growth rate will continue to be about 30%.
Development direction: Small and medium-budget movies will become mainstream.
Although the situation is excellent, the participants agreed that China films are about to face structural adjustment in performance situation, investment quota, communication channels, marketing concepts, consumption experience and ticket prices.
Since Zhang Yimou’s Hero in 2002, China films have entered the era of blockbusters, especially costume action blockbusters, which are the main box office of China films. However, in the past two years, especially in 2011, small and medium-sized films began to emerge. The production cost of "33 Days of Lovelorn", which is currently being shown, is only 8.9 million yuan (plus all the publicity and marketing costs are less than 15 million yuan). At present, the box office has exceeded 300 million yuan, making it the biggest dark horse in the history of China movies this year. And this also represents the future direction of film production, that is, we must be wise and close to the audience.
Movie ticket group buying has become a fashion.
Online group buying has contributed to the overall improvement of box office in China. The same movie ticket, the money paid by each viewer is very different. Take Cecilia Cheung’s movie "The Woman of Yangmen" as an example. If you buy it temporarily at the cinema counter, ordinary individual customers will need to spend about 70 yuan, while those who buy a group ticket or discount card will spend 30 yuan to 35 yuan, while those who buy it online in advance will only need to spend 19.5 yuan or even lower.
At the moment when movie tickets are expensive, a form called "group buying movie tickets" is rapidly emerging, which brings a glimmer of life to China’s long-standing "chronic disease" of inflated movie tickets.
